Who We Are – Rooted in Community, Growing Through Cooperation

Bushika Integrated Area Cooperative Enterprise Ltd (BIACE) is a farmer-owned, member-based secondary cooperative located on the lush lower slopes of Mt. Elgon, in Bududa District, Eastern Uganda. Officially registered in March 2017 under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives (Registration No. 10865/RCS), BIACE exists to transform the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through sustainable agriculture and cooperative development.

From humble beginnings with 10 primary societies, BIACE has grown into a thriving network of 16 primary cooperative societies and numerous rural producer organizations—representing over 2,025 farmers, including 634 women and 330 youth.

To empower smallholder farmers by providing access to quality agricultural inputs, training, extension services, and market opportunities—enhancing productivity, profitability, and sustainability across value chains.
